The UPS Quote Settings determine which UPS services are offered and how their shipping rates and delivery estimates are displayed at checkout. In your WordPress dashboard, navigate to WooCommerce > Settings > Real Time Shipping Quotes. Click Providers, then click the Quote settings link for your connected UPS account. Complete the settings below and click Save.

UPS Services Place checkmarks next to the UPS services you want to offer to customers in the shopping cart and at checkout. You can use Select all to select all services in a group. A selected service will be displayed only when UPS offers it for the shipment’s origin and destination and the Real Time Shipping Quotes shipping method is enabled for the corresponding WooCommerce shipping zone. A checked service is not a guarantee that UPS will return a rate for every shipment.

Domestic services

UPS Ground; UPS 2nd Day Air; UPS 2nd Day Air A.M.; UPS Next Day Air Saver; UPS Next Day Air; UPS Next Day Air Early; UPS 3 Day Select.

International services

UPS Standard; UPS Worldwide Expedited; UPS Worldwide Saver; UPS Worldwide Express; UPS Worldwide Express Plus.

Label as

UPS’s service name displays by default. Enter a different name if you want customers to see an alternate description for that service at checkout. This changes the displayed name, not the UPS service being requested.

Markup

Enter a dollar amount (e.g. 5.00) or percentage (e.g. 3.5%) to increase the rate returned for an individual service. Enter a negative value to reduce it. For example, a 5% markup increases a $20.00 service quote by $1.00. Service-specific adjustments are applied before the general Handling fee / markup setting below.

UPS contract services These services must be enabled on your UPS account before you can offer them. Select the services you are authorized to use: UPS Ground Saver Less than 1LB; UPS Ground Saver 1LB or greater; UPS Ground Saver Bound Printed Matter; UPS Ground Saver Media Mail; UPS Ground with Freight Pricing.

Label as

Enter an alternate name for the selected service.

Markup

Enter an amount or percentage to adjust the quoted rate for the service.

Signature options Signature not required

Choose this option if you do not want to require a delivery signature for all eligible shipments.
Signature required

Choose this option to request a delivery signature.

Adult signature required

Choose this option to request an adult signature. Product-specific signature requirements may also apply; adult signature requirements take priority when specified.

Delivery estimate options Don’t display delivery estimates

Choose this option if you don’t want customers to see an expected delivery date or transit-time estimate alongside UPS shipping rates.
Display estimated number of days

Display the estimated number of days a shipment will be in transit after it ships. UPS transit-day estimates normally refer to business days rather than counting weekends and holidays. This describes time in transit, not the time your store needs to prepare the order.

Display estimated delivery date

Display an expected delivery date with each eligible UPS service. The date depends on the ship date used in the quote request. Use the Cut off time & ship date offset settings below if orders need processing time before shipment.

Delivery estimate range

To show a date range rather than a single day-specific estimate, enter a number of additional days (e.g. 2). The range begins with the UPS estimated delivery date and ends the specified number of days later. For example, if UPS estimates delivery on the 10th and you enter 2, the range ends on the 12th. Leave this field blank to display the day-specific delivery estimate.

Display range as a from and to date

Show both the beginning and ending dates of the delivery range, such as the 10th through the 12th.

Display range as “on or before date”

Show the end of the estimated date range as an on-or-before date, such as “on or before the 12th.” These options control how the estimate appears to the customer; they do not guarantee a delivery date.

Cut off time & ship date offset These settings establish the ship date used when UPS calculates delivery estimates. They are relevant when you choose to display a transit-time or delivery-date estimate. The date a customer places an order may not be the date you hand the shipment to UPS.

Order cut off time

Enter the time after which new orders will be treated as shipping on the next eligible shipping day. For example, with a cut off time of 2:00 PM, an order received at 1:00 PM can use today’s date as its starting ship date; an order received at 3:00 PM starts with the next shipping day. Leave the field blank if you do not use a cut off time. The days you select below also affect which dates can be used for shipment.

Fulfillment offset days

Enter the number of additional shipping/fulfillment days needed to prepare the order before handing it to UPS. This is useful if your store typically needs one or more business days to pick, pack, or prepare orders. Leave blank if no additional fulfillment delay is needed.

Example 1: Order placed before the cut off time

If an order is received before the cut off time on the 5th of the month and Fulfillment offset days is set to 2, the estimated ship date is the 7th, assuming the 5th, 6th, and 7th are all selected shipping days and none is a holiday.

Example 2: Order placed after the cut off time

If the same order is received after the cut off time on the 5th, the starting ship date moves to the 6th. With a 2-day fulfillment offset, the estimated ship date becomes the 8th, assuming the intervening days are eligible shipping days.

What days do you ship orders?

Check the days on which your business actually hands shipments to UPS. Use Select all if every listed day applies. For example, if you ship Monday through Friday, the plugin should not assume that a Saturday or Sunday order will ship during the weekend. These selections can shift the ship date and, in turn, the delivery estimate shown at checkout.

Ground transit time restrictions Use this setting to prevent UPS Ground from being offered when its estimated transit time is longer than your products can safely remain in transit. It can be particularly useful for perishable or time-sensitive products. Enter the maximum allowed number of days in Number of transit days. For example, enter 2 if you don’t want Ground offered for shipments estimated to take more than two days. Leave the field blank to disable the restriction.

Restrict by the carrier’s in transit days metric.

Compare the limit against UPS’s estimated transit-day count, generally expressed in business days. For example, a two-business-day Ground shipment that spans a weekend may still satisfy a two-day limit. This choice is useful when you can schedule shipping to avoid a weekend delay.

Restrict by the calendar days in transit.

Compare the limit against elapsed calendar days, taking weekends and holidays into account. A shipment with two business days of travel may span more than two calendar days if a weekend occurs between pickup and delivery. This choice is useful when the actual time between shipment and delivery matters, such as for perishable products. The restriction affects whether Ground is offered; it does not change UPS’s underlying transit-time estimate.

Hazardous material settings These settings apply when one or more products in the shipment are identified as hazardous material in their WooCommerce Product Settings. They control which UPS rates are quoted and whether an additional estimated hazardous-material fee is included.

Only quote ground service for hazardous material shipments.

Check this box if shipments containing hazardous materials should be offered Ground service only, rather than UPS air services. Leave it unchecked if your store may offer eligible air services for those shipments, subject to UPS’s restrictions.

Ground hazardous material fee

Enter a fixed amount to add to the applicable Ground rate estimate when a shipment contains one or more hazardous-material products. The entered fee is added once per shipment, not once for each hazardous-material item. Leave blank to disable this additional fee.

Air hazardous material fee

Enter a fixed amount to add to the applicable air rate estimate for a shipment containing hazardous materials. This fee is also added once per shipment, not once per item. Leave blank to disable it. For example, if a shipment contains three products marked hazardous and the applicable fee is 20.00, the plugin adds $20.00 for that shipment rather than $60.00. These fields affect the rate estimate; they do not by themselves establish whether a shipment is eligible for a UPS hazardous-material service.

Handling fee / markup Enter a fixed amount (e.g. 5.00) or a percentage (e.g. 5%) to increase the UPS shipping quotes. Enter a negative amount to decrease them. This general adjustment is applied after service-specific markups.
Commercial invoice settings Enter the commercial invoice fee per package for international shipments. The fee is multiplied by the number of packages. Leave blank if no fee applies.
Rate source Use my negotiated rates.

Use the UPS rates associated with your account.
Use retail (list) rates.

Use UPS retail rates instead of the negotiated rates.

Error management Quote shipping using known shipping parameters, even if other items are missing shipping parameters.

Return quotes using the product information available. The rates may be understated if items are omitted.
Don’t quote shipping if one or more items are missing the required shipping parameters.

Do not return a UPS quote when a product lacks required shipping information.

Enable logs Check this box to record API activity for this UPS provider connection. After a quote request is made, open Logs from the Real Time Shipping Quotes plugin’s navigation menu to review recent transactions. The page keeps up to 25 of the most recent transactions; older entries are replaced as new ones are recorded.

Use the logs to examine the information submitted when requesting a UPS rate and the response received. This can help you investigate missing or unexpected rates, verify which shipment details were supplied, or share relevant transaction information with Eniture Support. Select a transaction’s response result to view its details; use the + and – controls to expand or collapse information.
